JEWELLERY

Ever since Man first started to form societies and think creatively, physical adornment has been a popular and pervasive prescence. From the earliest examples of bone and bead jewellery to precious gemstones, the need to adorn the body has at times been associated with religion, increased sexual prescence and even been a badge of honour amongst societies.

There are many different styles of jewellery to choose from and some are associated with different types of people. It's almost possible to judge each persons personality from the jewellery that they wear and no other piece of jewellery is better at revealing this than the earring. It's been shown time and again that the earrings that you wear are a clear indicator of what type of personality you have, with two basic types, the stud and the hoop being the biggest differentiator.

Stud earring wearers tend to be perhaps less willing to draw attention to themselves, could be said to be less showy and more likely to be sophisticated whilst hoop earring wearers (especially large hoop earring wearers) more outspoken, brash and attention seeking, but this isn't the point... wearing earrings in itself is a statement which says 'I care about appearance' and there's no denying that a good pair of earrings make us feel good.

Showing Wealth - Gemstones And Gold

Wearing expensive jewellery made with gemstones and precious metals is a very strong statement which says "I'm special!" People who regularly wear this type of expensive jewellery do it because it makes them feel great and this may have something to do with putting forward the perception of wealth, health and worth. Men wearing diamond studded earrings especially are making a statement that they are wealthy and because of this attractive to certain portions of the opposite sex, a trend which has really been taken on board by the 'Rap' music scene.

Larger displays of gemstone jewellery really does display confidence and portray standing in society - obviously an appealing feeling to some people.

What About Costume Jewellery

Costume jewellery traditionally uses less expensive stones and mounting materials but the designers of this type of jewellery, because of the use of less expensive materials, have more scope with design. Many modern costume jewellery designers utilise semi-precious stones such as Amethyst to create jewellery which looks great and is styled around a certain theme. This type of jewellery makes us feel great because it can co-ordinate with our look, which when you are trying to beautify yourself can make a large difference to the overall effect. Trends such as bohemian, retro or modernist jewellery can dramatically alter the look of the wearer even though clothes stay the same, which for any woman is a Godsend... fashion is pretty expensive at the end of the day and if you can use some jewellery to change your entire look then that's a great money and time saver!

Cheap VS Quality Jewellery

Free Silver Jewelry Gift There's no denying that we all 'get a kick' from wearing something a little bit more expensive than the norm, so it may be that the quality of the jewellery that you wear can have a real bearing on how you feel. Cheap nickel jewellery doesn't have the perceived value that more expensive precious metal jewellery has, however this really depends what you're looking for... if you don't have the money for the look you want with Gold or Silver then you really have to find that perfect look in less expensive jewellery. In the end it comes down to the wearer, but there's one thing that is clear... whatever your jewellery type, whatever your style, wearing jewellery makes us feel great!
